Urban Supply at Parkside Birmingham, Alabama

Dix.Hite teamed with Orchestra Partners to develop a vision for the Urban Supply district of the Parkside neighborhood in downtown Birmingham. The overall project is part of a larger vision for Urban Supply, a two-block reimagined district that takes on a personality similar to its historical use – a supply district. Inspired by the history of the buildings as grocery warehouses, the plan includes a market center where local restaurants and restaurateurs will focus on local food and culture. This complex of bars, restaurants, and event venues bridges 13th Street and spills into the back alleyway. The alleyway, now called the Aisle, has been re-imagined into a dynamic outdoor space where people from all over the city can come together and experience the best of Birmingham. In addition, a segment of the Jones Valley Trail runs through the property, providing a new connection.
