Camden Thornton Park Orlando, Florida

The Camden Thornton Park luxury apartments seek to bring an upscale art-centric focus to differentiate it from the many urban infill projects in downtown Orlando. Dix.Hite’s main contribution was the 4th floor amenity deck where we created a series of spaces on the narrow and linear space. Plantings were used as privacy buffers to units and two tone artificial turf creates artful patterning while allowing flexibility of use for outdoor gatherings. Early in the concept phase, we suggested the removal of an amenity level unit to create the “Chill Lounge” instead of putting a roofed structure on an already tight space. Light projection allows showcasing of artist work by animating the tower end walls at night.
