Using an “opportunities and constraints” analysis, Dix.Hite identified ways for Lake Highland Preparatory School to increase student engagement with the outdoors and make connections to the lakefront. The final result provided direct access from classrooms to the courtyard, added three interactive spaces within the courtyard, and directed student drop-off through the courtyard. The space includes areas for outdoor teaching, discovery, tactile play, water and movement to engage all the senses.
