The Coastal Oaks Preserve Receives Environmental Sustainability Honor

Coastal Oaks is a 220-acre preserve located within Indian River Lagoon, North America’s most biologically diverse estuary. Unmitigated threats, such as sea level rise, pollution and invasive species, threatened to cause irreparable damage to the area. To help prevent this, Dix.Hite was engaged to lead a process to identify strategic design interventions that celebrate the preserve’s unique ecology and character, provide education by connecting people to nature, and create a foundation for Coastal Oaks to become a resilient coastal ecosystem.
