Athenapowerlink Program

We’re no strangers to planning. In fact, it’s a huge part of what we do. From master planning, site planning and visioning, to stormwater management and ecological interventions, the success of our projects comes from taking a step back and looking at the big picture. So, why hadn’t the same been done for our own firm?

That is, until Dix.Hite president, Chris Hite, took our planning skills to the next level by participating in the Athenapowerlink program. ATHENA International is an organization dedicated to creating leadership opportunities for women, and this specific program helps make women-owned businesses more profitable and positioned for growth. For an intensive period of 12 months, business owners are paired with and mentored by a hand-selected advisory panel, who are chosen based on their specific business needs.

By helping define the areas to focus and improve on, the ATHENAPowerLink program helped Chris create an actionable plan for Dix.Hite’s success. Now, two years after she completed the program, our entire firm participates in yearly strategy sessions. Although we each might have individual goals, they’re all centered around hitting specific targets from that strategic plan. We’re all encouraged to play a role in the betterment and advancement of our company.

The Dix.Hite culture is all about celebrating our employees and empowering them to achieve their fullest potential. We’re incredibly proud to be a women-owned business, and hope it inspires others to seize any and every opportunity to develop. It just goes to show that, with a little planning, you can be the master of your own destiny and take ownership of your success.
